It seems an easy question to answer, because we are all so familiar with music. But being familiar with something is not the same thing as knowing what it is. When I ask myself this question about music, I ask it as a scientific question. So I want an answer which relates music to our scientific understanding of the world. And I want an answer that makes predictions about music (and for bonus points, it should make predictions about other things besides music). I don't know for sure that I've got any closer to answering this question yet. Over the years (and the decades), I've had some promising ideas. Some of those ideas still seem promising, and others now seem less promising. I'm fairly sure that no one else has yet answered the question. So, let me introduce myself. I’d say sure,* you can do pretty much anything with an intention to be mindful, but what makes a session of mindful music appreciation unique and distinct from a mindful breathing practice?

When you are listening to music, are you often focusing on other activities, and letting the sounds fade to the background? While music is great for creating an environment, listening to it actively and mindfully has many benefits, and can bring you a lot of joy.
The principle of mindfulness involves centering all of your attention on the task at hand, whatever it may be. It instructs us in the awareness of all of the subtleties that the activity entails. In the case of music, dedicating your full focus to the different layers of sound, subtle changes in rhythm, various elevations of pitch and the movement of the instruments and voices can: Read Article: http://www.thealternativedaily.com/3-reasons-really-listen-music-mindfully/ Watch as various sounds affect different liquid mediums in surprising ways.

1. It Relieves You of Anxiety Life is crazy. You really never know what's going to happen next, because it just happens. And for some people, this causes a great deal of anxiety. Many embrace a number of counteractive methods to keep anxiety at bay ... like taking medication, exercising, medication, eating, medication, therapy, and even some more medication. Each bit is encoded using the magnetic field of a single atom — making for extremely compact data storage, although researchers have stored only two bits of data so far.
“If you can make your bit smaller, you can store more information,” physicist Fabian Natterer of the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland said March 16 at a meeting of the American Physical Society. Natterer and colleagues also reported the result in the March 9 Nature. Music has the ability to quickly shift our mood, affecting our subconscious mind where pesky negative thoughts feed on our fears and fuel the fires of stress. Listening to music is a relatively inexpensive, quick-acting solution that’s almost always available, and it could just save your life. Here are 12 ways you can use music in your daily routine to help manage stress and create more joy in your life. 1. Starting Out Right – Rise with Music Imagine if the sun bolted into the sky each morning like the sudden switching on of a floodlight, or if every day started with a sonic boom. That’s what it may feel like when you wake up to a clock radio blaring the morning news, a soda commercial, or just buzzing a harsh alarm. Consider being a little kinder to yourself.
